Worksurface Description: Epoxy resin is manufactured from a mixture of materials like epichlorohydrin (ECH) and bisphenol-A (BPA) and fillers. To provide additional strength to the resin component, fillers like silica, metal, and glass may be added.
Casting epoxy resin is done in individual layers and the thermoset process is applied to cure them for enhanced heat resistance. This material is the go-to work surface for laboratory casework and industrial workbenches.
For use in laboratory countertop manufacturing, epoxy resin has been touted for its versatility and relative ease of use. Though epoxy resin countertops may not be the perfect solution for every lab, its high resistance to heat, chemicals, water, and stress makes epoxy resin an excellent choice for many laboratory applications.
